Running the enterprise infrastructure that keeps campus moving

Dave Moss joined UT Austin in 2008 as an IT Project Manager and has since advanced through multiple leadership positions, building one of the most comprehensive portfolios in Enterprise Technology along the way. As Executive Director of Campus Solutions, he leads a team responsible for an unusually broad range of enterprise infrastructure, platform, and application services — cloud infrastructure, on-premises server virtualization and storage, identity and access management, database services, web services, mainframe and administrative systems, collaboration platforms, and application hosting and delivery platforms. In short: the systems that nearly every UT Austin service depends on.

Dave's career at UT Austin is marked by a string of high-impact projects that have fundamentally shaped how the university delivers technology. He led the implementation of Canvas LMS, which became the university's standard learning management platform; directed the UTmail deployment that moved student email to Google; and created the UT Web central hosting service. Each of these initiatives required not just technical execution but sustained stakeholder engagement, cross-unit collaboration, and careful change management — skills that define his leadership approach.

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 25 years of experience in information technology, Dave combines operational rigor with the institutional knowledge that comes from 15+ years of progressive responsibility at a single complex organization. His deep familiarity with UT Austin's systems, culture, and stakeholders makes him an invaluable resource for the enterprise initiatives that rely on the infrastructure his team manages.
