Panopto

Panopto is UT's central video platform for lecture capture, course recordings, and async video content. Faculty can record, edit, and publish; students can watch, comment, and submit video assignments.

First Time Setup

Your account exists already — both Zoom and Panopto use UT Single Sign-On with your EID.

Sign in to Zoom
Go to utexas.zoom.us and click "Sign In." Use your UT EID and password — do not create a new Zoom account.

Join Zoom in Canvas
Your instructor will post Zoom meeting links or use the Zoom LTI in Canvas. Click the meeting link and you'll join with your UT account automatically.

Watch Panopto Recordings
Course recordings appear in your Canvas course under the Panopto or Media Gallery section. You can also go directly to utexas.hosted.panopto.com and sign in with your EID.

Submit Video Assignments
For video assignments, use the Panopto link inside your Canvas assignment to record or upload. No separate account setup is needed.
Tip: If asked for a Panopto sign-in, always choose "Sign in with your organization" and use utexas as the site name, then authenticate with your EID.
