The new ET Talk podcast creates a space for direct conversations about how technology work gets planned, built, and supported at UT Austin, starting with a first episode focused on AI strategy.

A new editorial format for Enterprise Technology

The launch of ET Talk gives Enterprise Technology a recurring format for explaining the thinking behind major technology work at UT Austin. Instead of only publishing announcements or status updates, the podcast creates room for a more direct conversation about decisions, priorities, and long-term strategy.

That matters because many of the university's most important technology efforts are difficult to understand through short updates alone. A podcast format can surface context, tradeoffs, and intent in a way that feels more conversational and transparent.

Episode one starts with AI

The first episode focuses on AI strategy, with Cole Camplese and Amanda Fratticcioli discussing how UT Austin is approaching this moment with both ambition and care. The launch positions AI not as a side topic, but as a university-wide capability that needs leadership, governance, and thoughtful implementation.

That is a strong opening choice. AI is one of the clearest examples of a technology area where campus interest is high, expectations are rising quickly, and institutional strategy has to connect experimentation with responsibility.

What this post type should support

For the site system, a podcast post needs to do more than imitate a feature story. It should make it easy to publish an episode page with listening links, episode metadata, a short summary, and structured show notes.

That model also needs to work as a category in the newsroom, so ET Talk episodes can be filtered, featured, and eventually aggregated into a dedicated archive.

  • Episode metadata such as title, series, topic, and guests
  • Platform links for YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts
  • Structured summary and show notes blocks
  • A distinct visual treatment that feels like audio content, not a standard article

Why the podcast matters

A podcast like ET Talk helps humanize Enterprise Technology work. It gives leaders and builders a chance to explain not only what is being launched, but why it matters and how it fits into broader university goals.

Over time, that can become one of the most valuable storytelling channels on the site because it connects strategy, people, and delivery in a single format.
